Development and Validation of Willingness to Communicate, Language Use, and Motivation Questionnaires

The main goal of modern second language (L2) pedagogy is to engender appropriate communication skills among its learners. Hence, willingness communicate (WTC) in L2 emerged as an important variable recent years. Several factors have been found influence students’ WTC directly or indirectly. For this purpose, many scales and questionnaires developed so far examine the influencing students. However, a comprehensive questionnaire on inside ESL classroom still lacking. Likewise, relation use motivational orientations single study has yet be investigated. Thus, was aimed develop validate WTC, orientations. five-phase model used. After extensive literature review, were framed. Operational definitions three constructs established items finalised. Two experts field applied linguistics determined content validity questionnaires. At end, piloted 50 undergraduates 10 teachers. results revealed that all instruments valid highly reliable.
